Checking Your Web Stats?

One of the best ways to know about your site is to check your web stats. Your web hosting company should provide a free stats solution that will give you great summary information on a monthly and annual basis. So what stats should you be looking at the most? First, check the number of visitors (not hits); this represents the actual number of users that came to your site. Second, check the top most requested file. In most cases you’ll find it is your home page, but you might discover a surprise by looking at your other top files. Third, take a look at the referring sites. You want to know who is linking to your site. This may provide leads to building more traffic and traffic equals exposure. Look at each referring link and see what other content is on the same page.
