Brownfield News Gets Upgraded News Pro Package

Brownfield, Texas is looking better and better online and residents can now get more advanced news coverage thanks to a new web site. The Brownfield News recently upgraded their News Pro package from JAWS Media to offer a richer web experience to its subscribers. Some of the improvements include more advanced image management, active news categories, archive searching and RSS live feed.

Since the paper is managing the print and digital edition online, the web offers an effective way to reach a larger audience while not diluting the print. Only paid subscribers get access to the online edition that includes both full text and PDF versions of the newspaper. As a result, subscribers can choose which format suites them best and no one format oversteps the other.

In addition to the user interface improvements, the News Pro interface offers improved PDF upload tools for quick and easy updating to the site, improved image upload tools, better search features for finding archived content such as articles, ads and subscribers. Some additional tools were added to let the staff export ad stats to show clients how ads on their site are being displayed. These numbers are crucial to showing clients that have traditionally relied on print news just how much attention the web has gained over the years. These reports can be printed from the browser or exported to a table format for archiving over time.

Other improvements include the ability to export their subscriber base to perform email marketing in-house. As web sites continue to rise in importance, email continues to be the primary way to generate web traffic to your site. As a result, this easy export tool let's small and medium newspapers the opportunity to use advanced technologies without the need to employ a technology specialist.

News Pro is designed by and for small to medium newspapers that want an online presence that will add, not take away, from their print edition. Want to learn more? Watch the News Pro intro or contact us with your specific questions.
